Fences: Hacks, Modifications, New Trends and Cutting-Edge Styles

Hi, my name is Johnny. For years, I worked as a handyman, and although I did a bit of everything, I ended up helping a lot of people put up fences. Over the years, I have seen what works. I have learned how to hack your need for fencing if you don't have the time or cash to put up a new fence, and how to modify and repair fences to improve their function. I have also seen a lot of trends come and go, and I'm keenly interested in what's new in the world of fencing. Unfortunately, a back injury has made it difficult for me to work so now, I explore ideas by writing about them. I hope you enjoy my fencing blog and that you learn a lot. Thanks for stopping by!

What to Consider When Installing Welded Mesh Fencing in Zoos

If you manage a zoo or game park, you know how important fences are during daily operations. Fences control animal movement, elevate your landscape and keep customers safe. Welded mesh fencing is one of the best types of fences you can use for your zoo/game park. These fences are temperature and weather-resistant while providing excellent durability for heavy use.

However, there's more to welded mesh fencing than what meets the eye. For you to make the right purchase and installation decision, you'll need to consider multiple variables and how they influence your premises.

How welded mesh fencing is made

If you're new to welded meshing, it helps to understand how the material is prepared. It starts off as a galvanised mesh that's welded in place using a combination of welding techniques. The mesh is then coated with PVC via a heating process. PVC makes the fence flexible, such that it can bend and move around without breaking. PVC also reduces the material's susceptibility to cracks.

One of the primary benefits of welded mesh fences is that they remain in good condition even under sunlight and temperature fluctuations. They're also abrasive-resistant, making them useful for animal cages or perimeter fencing.

When selecting a fence for your zoo, you should consider the following factors.

1.    How does it blend with your landscape?

Fencing has a lot to do with the landscape and background. If your fencing doesn't blend properly, your animals may feel out of place and your customers may not be attracted to your zoo/park. Blending fencing with your landscape is an art. You need to consider the shape, size and vegetation in your landscape even before you start installing the fencing material.

Welded mesh fencing is one of the easiest to blend with most landscapes. For example, a flat plain-like space works well with colourful and more complex meshwork. Meshes are also durable enough to control traffic and minimise maintenance costs. If you have a busy landscape (such as when creating cages for animals), a simpler welded meshwork may be a better option.

2.    Effect on animals

Your animals are a critical determinant of the type of fencing to be used. If the fence is unnatural or distracting, it may affect the health and well-being of your precious wildlife. Consider welded mesh fences that are tough, yet non-obtrusive. You can also vary the mesh size and orientation to match the natural habitat of your animals.
