Fences: Hacks, Modifications, New Trends and Cutting-Edge Styles

Hi, my name is Johnny. For years, I worked as a handyman, and although I did a bit of everything, I ended up helping a lot of people put up fences. Over the years, I have seen what works. I have learned how to hack your need for fencing if you don't have the time or cash to put up a new fence, and how to modify and repair fences to improve their function. I have also seen a lot of trends come and go, and I'm keenly interested in what's new in the world of fencing. Unfortunately, a back injury has made it difficult for me to work so now, I explore ideas by writing about them. I hope you enjoy my fencing blog and that you learn a lot. Thanks for stopping by!

The Ways In Which A Glass Pool Fence Can Enhance Your Backyard

When you are looking for a way to elevate the appearance of your backyard and provide protection around your pool, glass pool fencing is the best choice. Not only will it fulfill the council laws that require fencing around all pools, but it can add value to your home for years down the line, which can be advantageous if you decide to sell your house. Here are the ways in which a glass fence can transform your yard.

Physical Appearance -- Glass pool fences come in three main styles: frameless, semi-frameless and fully framed. Of the three however, the frameless style is most aesthetic appealing because it has no supporting posts or framing material, just the glass bolted directly into the ground, creating a sleek appearance with no visual distractions. Semi-frameless glass pool fences are also very nice to view, and the main difference between them and frameless glass fences is that they have posts that provide support for the glass, so there are slightly more components to distract from the clear glass. A fully-framed glass fence is probably the least attractive of the three types. It is still glass, so you will get the benefit of transparency and gloss. However, with posts on all sides, it's not quite as eye-pleasing, though still superior to wood or vinyl fencing.

Increases Space -- By installing a glass fence, you also give your backyard the illusion that it is bigger than it really is. Because the transparency of glass doesn't stop the eye from perceiving space, this fence creates the impression that a space is larger. This also extends to your pool itself, because the fact that you can see right through the fence makes the pool appear larger as well. This illusion is going to be greatest when you choose a frameless glass fence, because the lack of posts takes away all viewing obstacles.

Longevity -- Glass pool fences are made from tempered glass. Tempered glass is heated to at least 600 degrees Celsius, which makes it much stronger than standard-made glass. In addition, when tempered glass breaks, it doesn't break into big, jagged shards that can hurt you, but instead breaks into small pieces that are easy to sweep up and greatly reduce the chances of you getting hurt. The toughness and durability of a glass pool fence means you can enjoy it for years to come, without worrying about a great deal of maintenance.
